Man has it been some time since I have been on here!! How I have missed letting you guys in on my customer mishaps, but haven't been working much to be able to experience some :( tear, tear!!! Yes, I am a server, but I am also a customer from time to time. I try not to be a difficult one since I know how it feels to deal with customers like that, but sometimes you can't let people that work in the same field that you do get away with everything. Today I wanna discuss something I have experienced while dining out with some of my family. I have definitely ran into moments like these where I felt like I should vocalize how my customers are making me feeling, or talk back to them, but honestly it doesn't fix anything! So this is when I quote, "Silence is Golden!"

I completely understand that customers can get under our skin and I have had moments when I wanna cuss or give them a dose of their own medicine, but sometimes its better to just keep your mouth shut!!!! Let them say what they want or feel the need to say, especially if they're not saying directly to you! What do you honestly get out of letting a customer know how you feel and how they are being complete jerks?!?!? Absolutely NOTHING!!!! You're just risking yourself losing whatever tip that they would have left you, let alone the other people at the table, and also risking getting a manager or even corporate involved. Personally, I rather they trash talk all they want, then me lose my job just because I can't keep my cool. There have been plenty of times that I have about had it and wanted to go off on the next person that I had complain about anything, but I didn't. Instead of making your annoyance vocal, this is when I quote, "Kill Them With Kindness!"

This quote actually makes me have a little fun, and you ask how? When a customer is in the worst mood and they take it out on you especially this is the best time to use this quote. It could either go two ways, 1. You are so nice to them it starts to rub off that they are in a better mood. or 2. You are so nice that it pisses them even more off than they already were. Either way I am satisfied because it is not gonna ruin my day either way :) I will just rub the kindness in more and more!!!

So lets try to keep it civil, "Silence is Golden", while we "Kill Them With Kindness". It is just not worth arguing in front of a bunch of people just to end up a loser at the end. No one wins with screaming or lashing back at someone you don't even know and probably won't ever see again! Personally, my tip didn't affect the actions that our waitress took on the other guest, but if it was anyone else it could have. Just a little FYI, her lashing back wasn't the smartest idea and she is lucky that he didn't call a manager or even contact corporate, because she wasn't the best server and everything was coming out wrong, especially my melted dessert. So just bite your tongue and get on with your day.
